With production over for season 3 of "Girl Meets World" and the show currently on a two-week hiatus, fans have been speculating about the fate of the popular Disney series.

"Girl Meets World" is admittedly one of the better shows targeting tweens and teenagers that's currently on air. The drama has not shied away from touching on the issues that young people face today. For instance, the series has addressed issues like finding your own identity, girls and STEM subjects, love triangles, and female friendships. In the previous episode, Riley (Rowan Blanchard) had to learn how to let go of something that had immense sentimental value to her.

Episode 12 saw Riley fussing over the disappearance of her precious teddy bear. Even though the bear was old, tattered, and missing its face, Riley had her family and friends searching for it, much to the chagrin of Maya (Sabrina Carpenter), who wanted to go to Paco's Tacos. The episode also brought back the necklace that Cory's (Ben Savage) father had given him in "Boy Meets World," a tidbit that was undoubtedly appreciated by fans of the origina series.

With Riley, Maya, and her friends are growing up and headed to second year high school, the issues the characters will be facing will be more mature as well. This has led to speculations that Disney might not be renewing the show for another season. Congruent to this are reports that the show might be headed to Freeform. The network is under the Disney banner, but its shows are geared to an older demographic, making it perfect for the continuously evolving series.

Of course, a move to Freeform would mean nothing if the show isn't picked up for another season first. At the moment, Disney hasn't made any decisions yet regarding "Girl Meets World" season 4. When asked about the possibility of a fourth season renewal, Blanchard revealed that she knows "as much as you do."

"We are hoping for a Season 4, obviously, because we want to continue our story, and I feel like it's an important story to tell," Blanchard explained. "But as of right now, we just finished [filming] Season 3 and we're still waiting on the word."

Fans are undoubtedly hoping that they will soon be receiving good news about "Girl Meets World" season 4.
