Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has been nipping at the heels of market leaders like Samsung and Apple for quite a while. And this year, it brought out two great looking phablets that have the potential to take on other popular smartphones, one of which is the Mi Note. Here is how it compares to the huge Nexus 6 from Google.

Design

When it comes to design, the Mi Note has an advantage as it has a metal frame with rounded edges and Gorilla Glass 3 on its back panel and front, making the phone sturdier and more durable. Its front panel has edges with a 2.5 curve while its back panel has a bigger 3D curve, resulting in a device with a sleek finish. As for the Nexus 6, it has a metal ridge around its edge but the rest of the device is made of plastic. A dimple sits on its back panel, where the Motorola emblem is placed.

Display

When it comes to a size and sharpness, the Nexus 6 is way ahead as it has an AMOLED screen measuring 5.96 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 493 pixels per inch. On the Mi Note is an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 386 pixels per inch.

Specs

The Nexus 6's hardware is superior to the Mi Note. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, a Krait 450 CPU with four cores clocked at 2.7 GHz and an Adreno 420 GPU. The Mi Note, on the other hand, comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, a Krait 400 CPU with four cores clocked at 2.5 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU.

Memory

Both devices do not have memory slots and so external storage cannot be added. In terms of RAM, both have 3 GB on board.

Each has a 13 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization.
