The fourth quarter of the year is fast approaching and tech-lovers are already looking forward to updated versions of their gadgets. Google is expected to release a new tablet called the Nexus 7 2016, and there are many reports containing supposed specs and other details.

Yibada notes that new Nexus models are usually released at the same time new Android Operating Systems (OS) are unveiled. The newest Android OS called Nougat was recently unveiled and Google is expected to make an announcement about the Nexus 7 2016 tablet soon.

PC Tablet has gathered from reliable sources that the upcoming device will be launched by Thanksgiving, Nov. 24, and will be the first Nexus device to operate using Nougat. The previous models — Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 — are reported to be able to avail of the upgrade sooner. The publication also shared that the expected selling price of the device is approximately $260.

The anticipated Google Nexus 7 2016 is also reported to have a Snapdragon 820 processor, with 4 GB RAM and expandable internal storage. The initial internal storage is rumored to be 128 GB. The improvements will enhance multi-tasking functions from the previous models that will cater to the needs of many professionals.

No official announcement about the device has been made yet, though the suspension of Nexus 9 tablet sales has fuelled the speculations. The Bitbag, on the other hand, gathered that the Nexus 7 2016 will be powered by Nvidia Tegra X1 processor with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. The device is also believed to have a Quad HD 7-inch display with up to 2 TB external memory support.

In related news, it is also believed that two new mobile phones — codenamed Marlin and Sailfish — are being manufactured by HTC for Google. Old reports claim that the logo will be changed to "G," but this has not yet been confirmed as well.

All these reports have to be taken with a grain of salt until details are confirmed.
