Google marks its tenth anniversary by reinventing electronic mail with the introduction of 'Inbox' in Gmail.

"Today, we're introducing something new. It's called Inbox. Years in the making, Inbox is by the same people who brought you Gmail, but it's not Gmail: it's a completely different type of inbox, designed to focus on what really matters," the official Gmail blog posted.

A multitude of benefits are bundled with this new feature including perhaps the most useful piece for anyone who gets hundreds or thousands of email daily – automatic organization.

The Gmail Inbox is equipped with a scheme that groups messages of similar types.

It also highlights the importance of functional display.

"Inbox highlights the key information from important messages, such as flight itineraries, event information, and photos and documents emailed to you by friends and family. Inbox will even display useful information from the web that wasn't in the original email, such as the real-time status of your flights and package deliveries," according to the official description of this feature.

Those who do not have keen sense of prioritization will love Inbox, since it can serve as the basecamp of all reminders, tasks and activities that should be accomplished within a given timeline.

With the announcement Inbox, digital marketers that capitalize on email campaigns should now rethink their strategies and be more mobile-focused.

There are around half a billion Gmail users around the world, and the continued patronage not only brought about by the "Google brand", but is a result of continuous system and interface improvements implemented over time.

As CNN puts it, "it's damn near a religion."
