"Gotham" finally resumed its highly awaited season one and viewers are now gradually closing in on the season's finale. In last week's episode, audiences were introduced to the Ogre. What dangers lie ahead with this new villain?

Well, a lot. TVLine reports that the Ogre will target someone close to Jim Gordon. Specifically, Jason Lennon is going to seduce Barbara, Jim's estranged fiancée. Fans who saw last week's episode know that the Ogre is infamous for seducing, kidnaping, torturing and ultimately killing women who do not meet his exacting standards for a mate. Gordon takes on the case of the gruesome killer, knowing full well that he targets the loved ones of any cop who pursues him. The promotional video shows Barbara getting seduced by the Ogre.

Showrunner Bruno Heller told TVLine, "It's really a kind of perverse love story, between (Jason) and Barbara — and Gordon is hot on their trail. We discover some very creepy things about (Jason) and Barbara and Gordon is forced to make some very tough choices." These choices will lead to something shocking, the creator teased further.

Meanwhile, Kristen's dismissal of Edward's obvious affection for her acts as a catalyst to setting him on the path to becoming the infamous Riddler. Heller confirmed this by saying, "She is the catalyst. And she's an innocent one at that. That's the tragedy of it — she doesn't mean to break his heart." So comic book fans will see the birth of a new villain.

While Alfred is hospitalized, Bruce is encouraged by Selina to uncover what's actually wrong and corrupt in Bruce Wayne Enterprise. In episode 20, they expose a corrupt employee but this path leads Bruce to find a shocking family secret.

Ben McKenzie, who essays the role of Jim Gordon, told TVGuide that Jim will find himself at the mercy of Penguin since he owes him a favor. Gordon used Penguin's help to blackmail Loeb and now this favor will come back to haunt him.

"Under The Knife" airs on Monday, April 20 at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
