(Facebook/GOTHAMonFox)Jamie Chung is Valerie Vale in "Gotham" season 3.

The citizens of Gotham City are close to knowing the horrors that took place in Dr. Hugo Strange's (BD Wong) secret laboratory in the upcoming season of "Gotham."

TV Line reports that a newly hired reporter for the Gotham Gazette is focused on exposing the truth about Indian Hill. The FOX series has finally announced which actress will play Valerie Vale. "Once Upon a Time" star Jamie Chung will reportedly take on the coveted role as the whistleblower on Strange's gruesome experiments. Valerie is said to be Vicki's niece.

In the DC comics, Vicki was also a field reporter, but her target was to uncover the true identity of Bruce Wayne.

Valerie is described as "confident and dogged," someone who will sell her own soul for a scoop. In Indian Hill's mystery, she believes that Detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) holds the key and is determined to seek him out. Viewers know that he is currently AWOL, looking for Lee (Morena Baccarin) to make things right for them. No one knows for sure when he will be back in the city. If Valerie succeeds in discovering what the facility was used for, the citizens will finally learn what has been happening right in their own neighborhood.

Valerie's exclusive report may even provide an explanation to the bizarre creatures that will invade Gotham in season 3. During last season's finale, a group of Strange's experiments escaped and fled towards the city.

Meanwhile, fans are now privy to the titles of the first two upcoming episodes, thanks to Drew Powell, who plays Butch Gilzean in the series. According to Comicbook, he tweeted a photo of the scripts. The premiere episode's title is "Better to reign in Hell..." and the next one is "Burn the Witch."

"Gotham" season 3 will premiere on Monday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
