Following a lengthy period of delays, Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5) for PS4 and Xbox One is finally here, alongside the all-new First-Person Mode and support for up to 30 players in GTA Online.

"In addition to the increased player count, Grand Theft Auto Online also includes all the existing gameplay upgrades and Rockstar-created content released since its launch on PS3 and Xbox 360. Existing players can transfer their GTA Online characters and progression to their choice of PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, and also get access to exclusive new content in both GTAV and GTA Online," Rockstar Games said in its official blog.

From early reviews, it seemed as if the long wait is validated by a terrific game. GTA 5 has received fantastic reviews from both gaming critics and enthusiasts, as posted in Metacritic.

The Independent called the game "a beautiful chaos" with the emphasis on substantial enhancements for online characters.

Gamespot praised the creators of GTA 5 for being able to maintain high level of quality to ensure that they are still mainstream-worthy.

"Even if you've played through GTA V once already, it's worth going back just to be reminded of what an outstanding achievement it is," according to Mark Walton of Gamespot. GTA 5 received 9 out of 10 rating from the reviewer.

Sony and Microsoft were given equal treatment by the studio in terms of "re-mastering." However, the level of detail is perhaps the only category that separated them.

Eurogamer captured screenshots of both PS4 and Xbox One gameplay. These particularly revealed that the amount of details and visual fidelity is significantly better in PS4.

Rockstar Games was also quick to respond to issues involving transfer of characters from Online to Xbox One and PS4 editions.
