"Grey's Anatomy" would return for its twelfth season in a few months and already fans can no longer contain their excitement for the show's upcoming installment. In true "Grey's Anatomy" fashion, however, not a lot of details regarding season 12 have surfaced.

Thankfully, without giving out spoilers, a recent sit-down with one of the show's main cast has given longtime viewers of the program their "Grey's Anatomy" fix.

"Grey's Anatomy," which first debuted in 2005, is a medical drama television series created by Shonda Rimes from "Scandal" and "How to Get Away with Murder" Fame. It details the lives of a group of medical interns as they find their place in one of Seattle's best teaching hospitals, Seattle Grace.

The series has received positive reviews eventually spawning 11 more seasons, a string of webisodes, and a spin-off, "Private Practice."

The show's most recent installment, season 11, saw a rollercoaster series of events with Derek's death and Richard and Catherine's wedding. Because of this, season 12's plot is completely up in the air.

In a recent interview with Design and Trend, Caterina Scorsone gave a little bit of glimpse on what can be expected for Grey's Anatomy Season 12, at least for her character, Dr. Amelia Sheperd.

"I would hope for next year that there is a lot more laughter and joy. I think that for the people who watch 'Private Practice,' they know that Amelia is actually a really light-filled, hilarious character. This year on Grey's, so many tragic things happened that we only got a very small glimpse at that side of her personality because it was mostly kind of mired in all of the tragedy. My hope is that next year we'll get to see the lighter sides of her a little bit more."

"Grey's Anatomy" would return for season 12 on Sept. 24, 2015.
