After a dramatic Season 10 finale that involved saying goodbye to some of the main characters, the writers of the hit drama, 'Grey's Anatomy,' are already hard at work with the new season.

Not even a month after the Season 10 finale, and the writers behind the lives of television's most talked-about doctors are working on the next season as early as now. Shonda Rhimes wrote on her Twitter account that the Grey's Anatomy's writers room is up and bustling.

"I've had a great day in #GreysAnatomy writers' room today!" wrote Rhimes on her Twitter account, as reported by Wetpaint.com.

Season 10 ended with Christina Yang (played by Sandra Oh) bidding goodbye to Meridith Grey, and it's not certain whether Oh will return in the upcoming seasons or even in the series finale.

Other characters that fans won't be seeing next season are Leah (played by Tessa Ferrer) and Shane (played by Gaius Charles). The last episode of Season 10 ended with the hospital being alarmed after a suspected terrorist attack took place.

Ellen Pompeo, who plays the titular role, has signed a contract stating that her character will still be on the show for at least a couple of more years. Patrick Dempsey did the same thing, much to the delight of the uncountable Derek Shepherd fans all over the world.

Season 11 of Grey's Anatomy will return in the fall of 2014. Part 2 of Season 11 is rumored to premiere on February 2015.
