Grand Theft Auto 5's Rockstar Editor will be available along with the launch of the PC version on April 14, according to an announcement by Rockstar Games. The Rockstar Support twitter account had earlier confirmed the global times for the GTA 5 PC launch. GTA 5's digital versions will unlock worldwide on April 14 at 12 am BST, which means that PC owners who have already pre-purchased and pre-loaded the game will be allowed to start playing it on April 13 at 7pm ET and 4pm PT in the U.S, and 12am BST in Europe.

Grand Theft Auto 5's Rockstar Editor allows players to record, edit and share videos created from Story Mode and GTA Online. The videos can be uploaded to YouTube and the Rockstar Games Social Club by gamers for their friends to check out.

Rockstar Editor features special camera modes, filters, depth of field and audio customization options. What is particularly exciting is a Director Mode that allows users to stage movie-making sequences from a cast of characters ranging from Story Mode's familiar faces, to pedestrians as well as animals.

Rockstar had launched the Grand Theft Auto video game series in October 1997 and it quickly became one of the highest selling video game franchises in history. The game was initially available only on Sony's Playstation, but can now be found on just about any platform available at the store today. Over 150 million copies of the Grand Theft Auto series have been sold across the world, with the most popular being Grand Theft Auto 4, which sold over 25 million copies. Over the period 1997 to 2007, Rockstar has released five titles, though gamers have been able to enjoy only two titles, with the sixth one likely to arrive soon.

Rockstar has hinted that it is developing a sixth installment to the series and media reports suggest that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be available for consoles in the next year or so.
