Official news regarding "Grand Theft Auto 6" is limited to none, so fans are always watching out for an announcement in events. Although Rockstar showed up in some of the gatherings, it did not mention anything related to the title, hinting that the game may not arrive soon enough.

The most recent event related to gaming is Sony's PlayStation meeting on Sept. 7, which saw the unveiling of the PlayStation (PS) 4 Pro and Slim. The company also announced video game titles that can be enjoyed with the new 4K console including "FIFA 17," "Mass Effect: Andromeda," "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" and "Battlefield 1," according to Vine Report.

The list did not include "GTA 6," so there goes another event that did not feature the much-awaited sequel.

As it stands, "GTA 6" might not be expected until 2018, which can even go until 2020. The earliest it could be announced is at next year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), as per Christian Daily.

Furthermore, the next installment to Rockstar's hit franchise could be set outside the United States. There are rumors circulating the internet indicating an Edinburgh or Dundee, Scotland setting.

This is because "GTA 6" will reportedly go back to its roots, which is in either of the two places. London is also speculated as a possible location, which will be seen in its 1960's glory. If that happens, players will drive around vintage cars, which is a huge step for the series.

Although Rockstar is giving no indication of the sixth installment's current state, they are actively releasing new content for "GTA 5."

Some reports believe that this is the reason why the developer is holding back from releasing news about the next iteration. They are allegedly milking as much as they can from the current title before moving on.

As of now, it is unknown if Rockstar is indeed working on "GTA 6" or it is not yet on their agenda. Nonetheless, there are fans demanding for it which might be enough for the developer to push its production.
