2015 kicks off on a high note for the gamers and specifically the fans of the Grand Theft Auto game series as Rockstar Games is due to release the GTA V for PC. The publisher announced that the release is scheduled for January 27 following the release of GTA V for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on Sept. 17, 2013 and for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Nov. 18, 2014.

The move is set to avail the action-adventure game to a wider consumer sphere as the video game developer and publisher, Rockstar Games, pushes to rake in more profits following the record-breaking sales of the game after it was first released.

The GTA V seems like a complete overhaul of the earlier editions of the game considering the edition's fine texture and the detail paid to the graphics. The audio quality is also considerably higher and it is also very notable that the images are clearer and sharper. So what PC capacity will support a smooth running of the game without lags or getting stuck?

To begin with, the game will only run on Windows 7 or higher and of the 64-bit version as the 32-bit OS cannot support high RAM capacities. You will be required to have at least 20GB of free space on your hard disk drive and 4GB of RAM. The minimum CPU capacity required is Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66GHz but for flawless optimum gaming, you will be required to have a Core i5 CPU with a processor speed of at least 2.3GHz and a 6GB RAM.

To support the highly defined graphics, your PC should have at least a GeForce GT 530 GPU or a GeForce GTX 480 GPU for an optimum gaming experience.

Rockstar Games has however not released any official statement regarding the PC specifications required to support its soon-to-be-released game and the guesstimates are based on an assessment of the minimum PC requirements for earlier GTA editions and the look and feel of GTA V on Xbox and PlayStation. For now, all that the avid GTA enthusiasts can do is to wait for January 27 and see how everything turns out.
