'Half-Life 3' release date, news and rumors: Steam greenlights 'Gabe Newell Simulator' game that allows players to release 'Half-Life 3'

(Steam)

A new game on Steam has received a greenlight and it's called "Gabe Newell Simulator." This game, as said by the developer Antonio Renna, will give the players the chance to release "Half-Life 3" to the public for good—in a fictitious way of course.

According to "Gabe Newell Simulator" which was posted on Steam Greenlight, this game is a third-person shooter (or TPS) and it features Valve's Co-Founder Gabe Newell as its protagonist. Players will take control of Gabe Newell and fight off the invading monsters/aliens that have invaded Valve's building.

"Gabe Newell Simulator is a game for those who have always dreamed of being the glorious PC Master Race Gabe Newell," developer Antonio Renna wrote on the official Steam store page of "Gabe Newell Simulator."

"You can impersonate Gaben and help him in his fight against other companies and make the decision to release Half Life 3 or not, and this will have drastic consequences in the whole universe! Explore the different rooms and corridors of Valve Corporation (many inspired by real ones), the secret lab and... their space station!"

This game, however, doesn't confirm nor deny the existence of "Half-Life 3," that's for sure. Still many fans have been hoping for its release ever since the last installment "Half-Life 2: Episode 2" was launched back in 2007.

A few days back, a dedicated fan had made some amazing discovery in the update files of Valve's MOBA game "Dota 2." Said on our previous report, Twitter user Steam Database took a quick look inside the files and has discovered a text-based file which is named hl3.txt.

Needless to say, the discovery still doesn't give out specific details. So for now, it's best to keep an open-mind and wait for Valve's or Gabe Newell's announcement for the game "Half-Life 3."

Meanwhile, "Gabe Newell Simulator" is now available on Steam for early access and has a price tag of $6.78, as reported on Tech Times.
