'Half-Life 3' release date rumors: Valve moving to new office in 2017 to prepare for anticipated game?

(Facebook/Half-Life)"Half-Life 3" is rumored to release in 2017 or 2018 with VR support.

Fans continue to hope that "Half-Life 3" will soon be in development and that developer Valve will finally give away details of its release. However, the company remains silent despite the rampant rumors about the game.

Although Valve hasn't mentioned nor confirmed that the game will happen in the future, fans cling on to the little hope that development is possible after news of Valve's new office surfaced. According to Kemper Development Company, the game developer will be moving to its new space by 2017.

Although this doesn't indicate any information related to "Half-Life 3," fans took the move as a hint that the developer is working and making big preparations for the project, along with another title from the company, "Left 4 Dead 3."

Rumors about an imminent "Half-Life 3" release was also fueled recently at the Gamescom 2016 event in Germany. Reporters for Eurogamer and Kotaku spotted a banner at the venue that deceptively hinted concrete information about the game. Indicated on the banner was the game title, written in a deceptive way – "Half-Life: 3." Just underneath it was a group of smaller text that said "editors who played it back then," written in German. Anyone who'd be too excited to take a closer look at the banner would consider the game set to be unveiled at the Gamescom 2016. However, it turned out to be a troll banner paid for by a media company.

Despite fans being kept in the dark regarding the release of the game, there are still those who believe that Valve will push through with its development. In addition, it is even speculated that the game should be ready by 2017 or 2018, just in time for the developer to celebrate its 20 years in the industry. It was also rumored that if the game will release in 2018, it will be compatible with Virtual Reality (VR) technology.
