Earlier this week, the huge "Warzone Firefight" update went live for the game "Halo 5: Guardians." Along with this came news that the game would be free to play for a week. This limited time offer is being made available to anyone with an Xbox One, but there is a prerequisite in that they also have to be part of the Xbox Live Gold program.

The free offering of "Halo 5: Guardians" came into effect on June 29 and it is currently ongoing. Attack of the Fanboy states that those who choose to play the game free of cost will have until July 5 to see if they like it. This means that players will have about a week of access to "Halo 5: Guardians" if they started it on June 29.

To get access to a free version of "Halo 5: Guardians," all gamers have to do is navigate to the Xbox Store on their Xbox One console. Once there, they will be able to just click on the game and download it in its full form. However, gamers will need to have their Xbox Live Gold membership account details on hand to complete the download of the game and start playing.

Included in the content that will be provided to gamers will be the Warzone Firefight mode and also the multiplayer and single player mode. This means that gamers will get access to the latest that is available for "Halo 5: Guardians." After this, they can even opt to buy the game which is currently priced at $29.99 after a 50 percent discount.

Gamers however have to ensure that they have enough space on their Xbox One console for the game since the download is expected to be around 81 GB.

While the arrival of the Warzone Firefight mode has been drawing the attention of gamers, others who have been waiting to try out the "Halo 5: Guardians" game will find this period of free play very attractive. As for the next installment in the franchise, it is going to be arriving in the form of "Halo Wars 2" which is set to arrive in February 2017.
