342 Industries introduces an all-new Halo adventure game exclusively to Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 PC via Halo: Spartan Strike.

"Developed by 343 Industries in conjunction with Vanguard Games, Halo: Spartan Strike is an all new story in the Halo universe. You are a Spartan IV in this classified ONI simulation of New Mombasa set during the events of Halo 2. Lead UNSC troops through numerous missions and battle against your enemies to save Earth. Test your Spartan skills against Covenant and Promethean enemies. Delve into 30 challenging missions using an all new arsenal of weapons, abilities, and vehicles," a statement reads on the game's official website.

Halo: Spartan Strike, which introduces a new legion of Promethean foes, is not a sequel to Halo 5, but follows a similar set-up.

Aside from the privilege of driving the classic Warthog, the game welcomes Kestrel Vtol.

A refurbished arsenal of weapons is also accessible to fight the deadly mechanical enemies seeking the annihilation of humanity.

New weapons include Suppressor, Scatter Shot, Binary Rifle and Incineration Cannon.

Halo: Spartan Strike also presents new armor abilities such as Proximity Mine, Bubble Shield, Teleport, Shock Chain and Airstrike.

A new storyline awaits Halo fans in this Windows 8 installment.

Halo: Spartan Strike is hitting store shelves on a Dec. 12, a few days before Halo 5: Guardians' release date slated for Dec. 29.

It will be available on Windows platforms like Surface tablet, Windows Phone and desktop and notebooks running Windows 8 or higher.

Halo is a multi-billion dollar franchise that has helped shape the video gaming realm.

Last year, Halo 4, the game that racked up $220 million in global sales on day one of launch, was declared the best-selling Microsoft Game Studios title of all time.
