"Fannibals" awaited in eager anticipation for the announcement of the renewal of the "Hannibal" series last year. When many breathed a sigh of relief after the confirmation that a third season would premiere in 2015, all that was needed was to wait for the trailer. NBC recently announced that the third season would premier in the summer of 2015, making the wait between the two seasons more than a year.

Variety reports that the new trailer, recently released by NBC, features Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) tracking the liver-loving Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) all the way to Florence in Italy a year after he fled with Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson). The cat-and-mouse chase is set to be full of suspense as Graham follows the trail of the insane doctor.

Dr. Frederick Chilton (Raúl Esparza) and Mason Verger (Joe Anderson) will also be reprising their roles in the next season. However, the trailer does not tell fans what happens to Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) and Alana Bloom (Caroline Dhavernas). Hopefully, they are still alive.

Indiewire reports that the third season will more or less follow the plot of "Red Dragon" with creator Bryan Fuller even teasing fans about the possible appearance of the book's second favorite character Clarice Starling. That will definitely be a treat for fans since she plays such a pivotal role in the story of Dr. Hannibal Lecter.

Writers of the season will also show flashbacks of Hannibal's life, but will choose which parts to show the audience and which ones to eliminate altogether. Lady Murasaki (Tao Okamoto) is also set to make an appearance, as can be seen in the promotional videos. She is seen chatting with Graham with a fire clacking in the background. "Hobbit" actor Richard Armitage is also set to appear in the second half of the season, essaying the role of the serial killer Francis Dolarhyde or the tooth fairy, according to Screenrant. Fannibals can also expect to see Graham's future wife, Molly (Nina Arianda) in episode eight. NBC will air season three in the summer of 2015.
