Watching 'Hannibal' always means two things for viewers: high quality television and a scary dose of gore. For Season 3, one of the show runners revealed that it will be split into chapters, following the suit of most highly-rated television series.

Steve Lightfoot, who produces and writes for the series, spoke to Digital Spy and hinted that the next season will be more "intense" and "fun."

"I feel there's more opportunity for more fun, for sure. The roof had come in so low and so intense in season two with all those people under it ... we can't bring everyone back and have them be even more intense than before, so we've got to mix up the attitudes and that's really exciting in the writer's room," said Lightfoot told Digital Spy.

The first half of Season 3 will pick up where the second season left off, with a chance to see Hannibal (played by Mads Mikkelsen) on the run and Will Graham (played by Hugh Dancy) trying to search for the cannibal psychiatrist.

The second part of Season 3 will lift some story arcs from Harris' novel, "Red Dragon," where Hannibal is seen mostly locked up.

"It'll be our version of Red Dragon. We know we're going to lock Hannibal up," added Lightfoot.
