'Hawaii Five-O' season 7 spoilers, cast: new member, returning cast and what lies ahead

(CBS)"Hawaii Five-O" season 7 production is underway, and while waiting, previous seasons may be streamed on CBS.

Filming for the seventh season of "Hawaii Five-O" is underway and actor Faran Tahir will be joining the cast. After her expected return in season 6 did not happen, viewers are looking forward to actress Michelle Borth in the upcoming season. Some details have also been shared.

Tahir was recently cast to join the reboot of "Prison Break" as well, and he said, "The last 3 months have been fun location wise for me as an actor as I have been shooting for upcoming 'Prison Break' in Vancouver and then Morocco and now will be heading out to beautiful Hawaii for the show 'Hawaii Five-O."

Meanwhile Borth's character, Catherine, was supposed to make an appearance in the finale episode of "Hawaii Five-O" season 6, but executive producer Peter Lenkov said, "Here was my dilemma: I brought her back in the finale last season, and I didn't want to replay that moment of him laying on his deathbed and her coming in, because it would feel very similar to last year." Lenkov added, "Now I have the luxury of another 25 stories at least, so I can do it in a different way."

Lenkov has shared that relationships will be explored in the upcoming season. He said that Kamekona's (Teila Tuli) backstory is coming up and it "explores his relationship with Chin Ho Kelly, before and after prison." He continued, "We get to see a Kamekona who we've never seen before. I always like when we explore our family."

Chin (Daniel Dae Kim) and Abby's (Julie Benz) relationship also has big surprises in store and so does the relationship of Kono (Grace Park) and Adam (Ian Anthony Dale), even if the latter is in jail.

"Hawaii Five-O" is a mixture of light moments, dramatic moments, and heart-pounding action. It wouldn't be long before the show returns as season 7 is scheduled to premiere on Sept. 23 on CBS.
