Fans of 80's TV show "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" will now have something to look forward to – the movie reboot of their favorite kids show has finally gotten a writer.

According to reports, comic book writer, Christopher Yost, has been tapped to write a new script that will bring Eternia's beloved characters to life.

The 42-year-old Yost is well-known for his works in comic books, having collaborated with Craig Kyle on the comic book series "X-23: Innocence Lost" and the "New X-Men." He's also one of the writers of "Thor: The Dark World" and is the head writer of the animated series "The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes."

Casting has yet to be started on the movie as the script is still in development. But the "He-Man" reboot will reportedly be a collaboration between Escape Artists and Sony Pictures. While Escape Artists might not have the same name recall as its partner, Sony Pictures, the studio was the driving force behind hit films like "A Knights Tale," "Pursuit of Happiness" and "The Weather Man."

"He-Man and The Masters of the Universe" follows the story of Prince Adam, a normal and, some would say timid, royalty who transforms into a powerful warrior when he raises his magical sword and utters the line, "By the power of Greyskull, I have the power!" As He-Man, Prince Adam is the most powerful man in the universe and he uses his powers to go against his nemesis Skeletor.

The animated series ran from 1983 to 1985. Its light and fun tone made it so popular that it spawned numerous merchandises, including a toy line and a live action movie starring Dolph Lundgren. While the movie didn't do as well as expected in the box office, it quickly developed a cult following. He-Man was given a new lease in life in the 2000's with an animated reboot and a new look, one that geared more towards the Japanese anime style.
