Although neither Zac Efron nor Vanessa Hudgens has confirmed their participation in the upcoming "High School Musical 4" TV-movie, the latest in the rumor mill is that the former will be paired with Taylor Swift on the said TV special as, allegedly, bringing back the two original "High School Musical" cast members to share the screen one more time is crying for the moon.

When "High School Musical 4" was announced in March this year, there is no denying that fans of the TV-movie have been more excited about the possibility of Efron and Hudgens returning to the TV event that helped them carve their respective names in Hollywood. Despite the excitement and the clamor of the fans, though, it remains uncertain at this point in time if they will really be part of the said project, much more that "High School Musical 4" will be introducing a new set of characters.

However, the latest rumors claim that, in the event that Hudgens won't return for "High School Musical 4," Efron may be paired with Swift. As it is alleged that Swift has been talking to Efron since her breakup with Tom Hiddleston, could it be that Disney is banking on the rumored new romantic pair for "High School Musical 4" to make more noise?

No one really knows.

Earlier, there were reports claiming that Efron and Hudgens would reprise their Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez roles, respectively, for "High School Musical 4." After being students in the past three "High School Musical," allegedly, it is said that Troy Bolton will be a coach for the Wildcats, while Gabriella Montez will be a Glee Club adviser on "High School Musical 4." It is even said that the two characters will get married at the end of the upcoming TV-movie. 

Is "High School Musical 4" really ushering in Swift? Are Efron and Hudgens still uncomfortable working with each other after their five-year real-life relationship? Is there a chance for the two to return to "High School Musical 4?"

Fans can only wait and hope for the best.
