The last episode for the fourth season of Homeland proved to be the tamest among the episodes. As tame as it is, the episode offered revelations that were the most important all season long.

The fourth season of the hit CIA drama, Homeland, gave its viewers electrifying episodes with numerous cliffhangers. The season saw how Carrie tried to recruit the nephew of Haqqani but was met with his death, and Saul being captured by terrorists and used as a pawn to get back their top commanders. This season proved to be emotionally, physically, and mentally devastating with Carrie as she was drugged, almost blown up, and even experienced the loss of her father, Frank Mathison, while she was mourning for her dead colleagues in Islamabad.

Season 4 also saw the deadly attack of Haqqani's squad in the American Embassy which was due to Boyd's spying. The episode before the finale saw how Carrie saw Dar Adal inside the car where Haqqani is, and this brought questions into her head.

The beginning of the season finale showed how Carrie deals with grief after losing her father, talking to her sister about the things they should keep or throw away. Carrie was also shocked by the sudden re-appearance of her mother, who she condemned but later chased.

Carrie was also confronted by her feelings for Peter Quinn. Just as the two were about to have a serious talk about their relationship, Quinn decides to go to a dangerous open-ended mission, which left Carrie talking to Dar Adal about her need to speak to Quinn. While talking to Dar Adal, Carrie confronts him about being by Haqqani's side. Carrie says that if he made a deal with the enemy, even Saul would spit on his face.

To her surprise, Carrie sees Saul in Dar Adal's backyard who seem to be looking at paperwork after he was offered to lead the CIA again.
