One more episode until the explosive fourth season of Homeland comes to a close, and it could be the season's most jaw-dropping yet.

The last episode of Homeland season 4 showed how Quinn ties his plans to singlehandedly assassinate terrorist leader, Haqqani, after Haqqani and his men took over the U.S. Embassy and killed 316 of their colleagues. The embassy was shut down and everyone was ordered to go back to the United States, though Carrie demanded to stay since Quinn went AWOL in hopes of finding Haqqani by himself for revenge.

Quinn found out Haqqani's location by tracking the mobile phones that he was able to get from the deceased members of Haqqani's terrorist squad. Quinn then creates a bomb and places it under a grail where Haqqani's mobile will pass during a protest that Quinn initiated by influencing Kiran, Aayan's girlfriend from medical school.

Carrie, while trying to stop Quinn and being on his tail, receives devastating news from home that her father, Frank Mathison, has died. Carrie then receives a call from Lockhart asking about the progress on finding Quinn, and then says that there is "something up" in Pakistan. Lockhart is on the verge of being replaced and believes that he is not being informed well.

When Quinn was about to detonate the bomb that he carefully placed, Carrie stands in the way to save Quinn from being caught. Carrie had a change of heart and suddenly found herself pointing a gun at Haqqani as he passed by, but he was prevented by Khan. When asked to look inside the car, Carrie saw Dar Adal.

This shocked Carrie since Dar Adal is working with the CIA and was the one who brought Quinn in the picture in the first place. It is uncertain if Dar Adal is playing double agent or stretching a con, and that will be revealed in the season finale called "Long Time Coming."
