'Homeland' season 6 spoilers: The CIA welcomes new agent with deep connection to Carrie

Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) may find herself working alongside the daughter of an ex-lover in the sixth season of the Showtime series "Homeland."

New spoilers reveal that there is a possibility that Nicolas Brody's (Damian Lewis) daughter, Dana (Morgan Frances Saylor), will soon be joining the CIA in the political thriller drama. Speculations on the said storyline arose after showrunner and co-creator Alex Gansa hinted that the grown up child of the ex-agent could be one of the strong characters to watch out for in the show. In a recent interview with Sioux City Journal, he shared that they are not yet done with the Brody family.

"I'm still interested in the Brody family, though. I know they caused grimaces across the Internet. What if she (Dana) became a CIA officer, right? That would be so interesting," the executive producer said.

If Dana does end up going to the CIA, she will find herself in close proximity with the woman who destroyed her parents' marriage. Carrie had an affair with Nick and they had a baby together. When Nick died, the series decided to leave the future of his family in limbo. Nothing much is known about what happened to them after that and many viewers thought that their storyline has been buried. It appears, though, that the showrunners have been planning for Brodys triumphant return, this time, with Dana as a frontrunner.

Meanwhile, Movie News Guide has an interesting idea on what will become of Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) in season 6. After Showtime Programming President Gary Levine let slip in January that the character would return "severely damaged," fans have been wondering what he meant. According to the publication, Quinn may end up with either "dysfunctional body part" or "some mental disabilities." His condition and the subsequent difficulties in dealing with the setback will reportedly make a good storyline for the series.

"Homeland" season 6 is scheduled to air in September on Showtime.
