Guerrilla Games' action role-playing game (RPG) "Horizon Zero Dawn," which just debuted last month, is getting an expansion, the developers have confirmed.
Nearly a month after "Horizon Zero Dawn" was launched worldwide on PlayStation 4 consoles, game developer Guerrilla Games has confirmed that its highly successful title will be getting an expansion story.
"This is only the beginning of Aloy's story and our exploration of the world of Horizon Zero Dawn, with the team already hard at work on an expansion to the story," managing director Hermen Hulst said in statement. Also in the press release, the studio expressed its gratitude to gamers and critics who embraced the game with open arms. The developers have been thrilled to see that the same passion and enthusiasm they put into developing the game have been reciprocated by the public.
Although Guerrilla Games has confirmed the development of an expansion, it has kept mum about the details of the pack. Given that the game just launched a month ago, it might be a while before players will see the update.
As of March 16, sales for "Horizon Zero Dawn" went over 2.6 million copies. The title is a PS4 exclusive, launch on Feb. 28 of this year. As previously reported, the RPG debuted in first place in the UK, outselling Nintendo's "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild."
"Horizon Zero Dawn" is set in a beautiful world, composed of diverse landscapes, and all of which players can explore. In the game, players will portray a woman named Aloy, a member of a primitive tribe. Within the first hour of gameplay, a tutorial will go through all of the basics of the game, teaching players how to sneak, climb, scan enemy androids, and destroy them. Aside from the game's diverse landscapes, players will have access to a variety of weapons.
More updates should roll out soon.
