Laurel (Karla Souza) will soon feel the repercussions of Wes' (Alfred Enoch) unexpected death in the upcoming episode of "How To Get Away With Murder."

The third season of the ABC series ended its year with a shocker when Wes was identified as the person under the sheet. He was inside Annalise's (Viola Davis) house when it exploded. Later on, it was revealed that Wes was already dead before the blast. Someone killed him.

Laurel learned about his death in the hospital, where she was getting treatment for her wounds. As per Enstars, Wes is the father of her child. She slept him with not so long before the incident happened. With Wes now dead, she would have to raise the baby alone.

Everyone was shocked when Wes' death was announced. The viewers also had no way of predicting this since he was not seen anywhere close to Annalise's house that day. The only indication of it was when he got a call asking him to drop by her place. He was at the police station at the time, ready to spill what he knew about the professor. He left shortly afterwards, presumably to go to Annalise's home. Nate (Billy Brown) was seen inside the house, as well as Laurel, but not Wes.

Executive producer and creator Peter Nowalk has said that the upcoming episodes would reveal what truly transpired that night.

"It's a few hours of time, and we will be seeing those hours throughout the remaining episodes. In the first episode back, we'll see what happened to Wes after he left the police station. We won't get all the answers, but slowly, we'll be pulling back the curtain. We'd been doing flash-forwards, and now we'll be doing flashbacks. And by the end of the season, if not earlier, we'll find out what actually happened to him and who killed him," the EP told TVLine.

"How To Get Away With Murder" season 3 returns Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
