HTC Aero release date, features, specs, news: HTC's spectacular 'Hero' flagship smartphone with cutting-edge specs to launch in Q4

After HTC's latest flagship device the One M9 failed to impress customers and met with criticism for lacking major improvement as well as falling behind competitive offers, the company had announced that it was preparing to release a "hero product" in October with "significant improvements in innovation and design." The latest reports now indicate that the "hero product" being developed by the Taiwanese tech giant is internally codenamed HTC Aero and will be released in the fourth quarter of 2015.

HTC has delivered a poor performance so far in 2015, mainly due to relatively weak sales of its recently released flagship One M9, which has faced tough competition from LG G4, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. At a shareholder's meeting held this month, HTC CEO Cher Wang had apologized for the company's disappointing performance this year and had promised that a new "hero product" was on its way by as early as October. Wang also promised to make significant changes to the next flagship in 2016 and improve the company's product mix strategy for smartphones, considering the competition that it is facing from bigger players like Samsung and Apple.

Now, according to fresh reports, HTC's "hero product" is internally codenamed HTC Aero and the company plans to release the smartphone with cutting-edge specifications in Q4 of this year. There are no technical details available about HTC Aero, though there are various speculations about the upcoming smartphone's specifications. The HTC Aero is expected to feature a Quad HD display and is likely to be powered by Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 820 processor, paired with 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM. HTC Aero is also expected to sport cameras with OIS support to fight the competition from smartphones made by camera-specialists like Sony and LG.

Incidentally, the release date of HTC Aero coincides with that of Android M, which means that HTC's "hero product" could come with a host of new features brought by Google's latest operating system. Stay tuned for the latest news and developments about HTC's "hero product", the HTC Aero.
