HTC, the manufacturer who will be making this year's batch of Google's Nexus handset, is now being rumored to be in the process of adding 3D Touch feature on their phones, according to the post made on the Chinese micro blogging site Weibo via VR Zone.

This technology, the 3D Touch, is not entirely new to the mobile world as Apple has already implemented this feature on their most recent update of the iPhone flagships, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Not just the Cupertino-based manufacturer, though, Huawei has also added a force sensitive screen on their handset Mate S, as stated on the report from VR Zone.

Furthermore, BGR reports that the 3D Touch version of the HTC Nexus 2016 will be included in the next operating system build from Google. Rumor has it that it is going to be called Android N, the successor to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

However, it appears like HTC is not the only manufacturers today who is developing the 3D Touch for the upcoming phones. Xaiomi, Meizu, Oppo, and Vivo are also considering this new tech, and they are planning to equip their next flagships with it, according to the anonymous source of Gizmo China.

Meanwhile, in terms of specifications, industry analyst Pan Jiutang via PC Advisor, had predicted that the next batch of Google Nexus handsets will probably have a much powerful chipset, possibly carrying Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 820.

There's no indication yet if the Taiwan-based manufacturer will implement this tech on their two Nexus 2016 handsets. Needless to say, since there is no evidence to back up these claims, it is ideal for the fans to take this one with pinch of salt for now, and consider it as mere prediction or speculation until proven otherwise.

That being said, it would be wise to just wait for further comments coming from Google or HTC regarding the 3D Touch feature, Android N, and the rumored SD820 chipset for the Nexus 2016 handsets.
