Samsung is hoping it has a winner in the form of the Galaxy S6 Edge , but there are several other beautiful smartphones, like the HTC One M9 , which are more than capable of taking on the Samsung device in a competition.

Design

There is literally no other phablet like the S6 Edge as it has dual curved edges on its screen. One of the edges can even be customized to display five important apps in the Apps Edge. The next menu can be customized with five important contacts and colors associated with them, which will show up when a call from them comes in. In addition, notifications, alerts and a night clock can be displayed on the edge as well. As for its build, it has a metal frame, Gorilla Glass 4 on its front and back panels and it also comes with a fingerprint sensor. In terms of colors, the S6 Edge has four options, white, black, gold and silver. As for the One M9 it has a metal unibody with curved edges and it has an attractive polish applied by hand, which gives the device a premium look. Like its competitor, it also has a fingerprint sensor. It comes in several colors such as gunmetal gray, a silver/gold combination and amber gold.

Display

The One M9 has a super LCD3 screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 565 pixels per inch. As for the S6 Edge , it has a bigger super AMOLED screen measuring 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 518 pixels per inch.

Specs

The S6 Edge is well ahead in this category as it has the latest Exynos 7420 chipset from Samsung coupled with an octa-core CPU comprised of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2.1 GHz along with a Mali-T760MP8 GPU. In the One M9 is Mediatek MT6795T chipset, coupled with an octa-core CPU clocked at 2.2 GHz and a PowerVR G6200 GPU.

Memory

There is no memory slot on the S6 Edge , which is why it lags behind the One M9 . The One M9 has a version that can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage. As for RAM, the device from Samsung is ahead with 4 GB, since the the One M9 only has 3 GB.

Camera

There is a 20 megapixel camera on the One M9 but the 16 megapixel camera on the S6 Edge has an advantage as it comes with optical image stabilization.

Price

The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is priced at $299.99 with a two-year contract, while the HTC One M9 Plus has a price tag of $650 on retail websites.
