HTC One M9 vs. Moto DROID Turbo: Premium One M9 leaves rival behind

Comparing the DROID Turbo to a beautiful smartphone like the HTC One M9 might seem like a waste of time, but both phones actually share several similarities. Here is how the DROID Turbo with its Kevlar and ballistic nylon design compares to the metal One M9 .

Design

The absence of metal on the DROID Turbo is evident from the get go as most of its body is crafted from plastic. It has capacitive buttons on its front while it back panel is either made of Kevlar or ballistic nylon. As for color options, there are three options, black, red and blue.

The One M9 , on the other hand, has a terrific metal unibody that boasts of a fine polish and curved edges. It even has a fingerprint scanner incorporated into the button below the display. It comes in three colors, gold/silver, amber/gold and gunmetal gray.

Display

Both devices displays are equal in terms of quality and size. The 5.2 inch super AMOLED screen on the DROID Turbo has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 565 pixels per inch while the One M9 has a super LCD3 screen measuring 5.2 inches as well, with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 565 pixels per inch.

Specs

The hardware in the DROID Turbo is older and consists of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, a Krait 450 CPU with four cores clocked at 2.7 GHz and an Adreno 420 GPU. As for the One M9 , it has a Mediatek MT6795T chipset, an octa-core CPU clocked at 2.2 GHz and a PowerVR G6200 GPU.

Memory

There is no memory slot on the DROID Turbo while the One M9 has a slot that can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage. As for RAM, both has 3 GB onboard.

Price

The HTC One M9 costs $650 on various retail websites while the DROID Turbo has a price tag of $99 with a two-year contract.
