HTC Desire 620 vs HTC Desire 610: 620 clinches it in style, display and picture quality

HTC Desire 620 released in December 2014.

HTC doesn't waste time in launching the most hyped gadgets of the year. The HTC Desire 610 release date was in February 2014 and at the end of the same year came the HTC Desire 620. Many went for the Desire 610 while many are still waiting to rightfully determine whether to go for the December 2014 release Desire 620 or whether to settle for the older version.

The colored plastic designs are similar yet different enough to leave a variation in the style for the users to pick. The Desire 620 is 7 mm longer and 2.2 mm broader that helps users pick the size suitable for them once again. The weight difference is a negligible 1.5 grams higher in the Desire 620.

In the display aspect, the Desire 620 wins hands down with a 5 inches display with 294 pixels while the Desire 610 display is not only smaller by 0.3 inches but also of a lower pixel density at 234 pixels. Reports suggest that this difference hasn't affected the sales of the Desire 610 because many people are comfortable with smaller devices.

Neither of the two phones have amazingly impressive performance features. Both sport a 1 GB RAM and a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor. The HTC Desire 620 features a Snapdragon 410 chipset with Adreno 306 GPU compared to the Snapdragon 400 chipset and Adreno 305 GPU of the Desire 610. Both the devices run on different versions of Android KitKat but both are upgradable to Android Lollipop. The Desire 610 comes with a 2040mAh battery while the Desire 620 needs a 2100mAh battery to be able to render the same battery life as the 610 because of its larger screen and higher pixel density.

The primary cameras of the two devices are no different either and the LED flash and video recording quality are the same as well. The 5 MP HTC Desire 620 secondary camera clearly outdoes the 1.3 MP of the Desire 610, making the wait worth it for lovers of the selfie!

With not too many differences in performance or style, the Desire 610 is still doing well in the market though the Desire 620 wins the race with the front camera, better display and better design at the same price range.
