Huawei recently expanded its smartphone and tablet lineup with the launch of the Huawei G9 Lite and MediaPad M2 7.0. However, these devices are only available in China right now where it appears that the company is looking to consolidate its market share by releasing devices that have been created specifically for the local market.

Coming to the launch of the Huawei G9 Lite smartphone, according to Phone Radar, the device is actually a watered-down version of the superior Huawei P9 and P9 Plus and similar to the P9 Lite, which was released in other countries. It is also said that the Mediapad M2 7.0 is a smaller version of the 10-inch and 8-inch tablets.

First off, the Huawei G9 Lite is very similar to the Honor 5C, which is part of the Honor brand of smartphones and also owned by the company. The chipset on both these devices is the Kirin 650, coupled with an octa-core CPU. As for RAM, there is 3 GB on board, and this combination with the chipset clearly puts this smartphone into the midrange band. As for the display on the smartphone, it is a 5.2-inch version with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and the onboard storage is 16 GB. Importantly, the device also has a fingerprint scanner on the rear and its battery is a 3,000 mAh version. The camera has a 13-megapixel version at the rear and a 8-megapixel version in front.

With the 7-inch MediaPad M2, Huawei is no doubt hoping that it will give customers a wider range to choose from in the Chinese market. Moreover, this tablet has a fingerprint scanner but it is positioned on the side of the device just next to the volume and power buttons. As for the 7-inch display, it has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. As for the processor, it is a Snapdragon 615 octa-core version. There is also an Adreno 405 GPU on board, along with 3 GB RAM.
