Huawei Honor 7 specs: 20 MP camera and an awesome fingerprint scanner in new Huawei device

The Chinese manufacturing company, Huawei, has just unveiled their latest flagship for the Honor series, the Huawei Honor 7. It boasts of not only remarkable power but also outstanding features including a 20 MP camera and fingerprint scanner.

According to a report from Stuff, the next model from the Honor series is going to have a gesture-sensitive fingerprint scanner on its back. Other than the standard locking and unlocking feature, users can also use the scanner to easily lock the phone. Of course that is not the only function of the scanner. Stuff did also mention that it also reads finger movements for quick control over notifications and the camera.

Huawei is also extremely proud of the Honor 7's 20 MP camera. In the market, there are only quite a few handsets that have 20-megapixel rear cameras. One of those is the Sony Xperia Z2. Lili Puting reports that, Honor 7 has the same Sony IMX230 20.7 MP camera that is able to produce higher quality images and offer improved functionality. The front camera however, is only 8 MP.

As for the other specifications of the smartphone, Honor 7 comes with a 4 Cortex-A53 processor with a clock speed of 2.2GHz, other versions however, only have a clock speed of 1.5 GHz. Honor 7 is also equipped with the Mali T628 GPU and comes with 3 GB of RAM.

The Honor 7's comes with a 5.2-inch display with 1080p resolution and is packed with 3,100 mAh of battery for power.

Huawei will be releasing Honor 7 in three different variants. The first model is the 16 GB, which sells for $320, the second model is said to be a dual-SIM LTE version priced at approxmately $355 while the third model, which comes with the biggest onboard storage of 64GB has a price tag of $400.

According to iDigital Times, Huawei's Honor 7 is set to launch in China on July 7, 2015.
