'Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2', the final installment of the Hunger Games movie franchise, is set to air later this year. While fans of Suzanne Collin's Hunger Games novels already know how the series will end, there should still be plenty of excitement and surprises in store for casual and dedicated fans alike.

'Mockingjay Part 2' should be exciting on the mere fact that after three movies, Katniss finally gets the chance to confront President Snow and end the dictator's reign of terror. While 'Mockingjay Part 1' was able to develop the story and set up the stage for the final installment, it lacked a certain energy due to the fact that it was not really meant to serve as the climax of the franchise. The few action scenes peppered throughout that film felt like a prelude rather than standing on its own.

Distributer Lionsgate has spared no expense in making sure that the final film of the series goes out with a bang. 'Mockingjay Part 2' will be released both on IMAX and 3D formats, and will be the only film in the series to have the 3D format.

Based on a report at Forbes, the inclusion of 3D is probably to increase the film's box office haul. Whether it will fit in seamlessly with the movie and was filmed with 3D in mind remains to be seen. Still, fans are urged to keep an open mind as the conversion may serve to enhance the experience of watching in 3D format due to the expected large scale action in the film.
