iOS 8.4 jailbreak news: Apple set to come out with the iOS 8.4.1; patch will nullify 8.4 jailbreak

The iOS 8.4 update was released last month and it came as no surprise that the jailbreak community immediately followed with its own iOS 8.4 jailbreak. However, jailbreakers might do well to reign in their celebrations as news have hit that Apple has just released the beta to iOS 8.4.1.

The beta for iOS 8.4.1 is a surprise since it has only been two weeks since the iOS 8.4 came out. The iOS 8.4 was touted to have fixed certain bugs, enhanced how the operating system performed and introduced Apple Music to iOS users.

The iOS 8.4.1 will allegedly work on the remaining bugs and make further improvements to Apple's final operating system before the iOS 9 arrives. It is still a mystery which fixes will be carried by the iOS 8.4.1, but there is the possibility that the Cupertino-based company might end up with a security patch that would nullify the iOS 8.4 jailbreak.

There is a chance the patch might not be included in the iOS 8.4.1 beta version but be included in the final version. There is a precedent to this as Apple has come up with security patches before that made jailbreaks basically useless.

It is inevitable that there will be users who go for jailbreaks and who get angry whenever Apple releases a security patch but the company does not want users to modify Apple devices, as it becomes a security risk. So whenever the company's software has been targeted by jailbreakers, they would naturally address the issue by releasing security patches.

On the off chance that Apple lets the iOS 8.4 jailbreak run its course, it probably means that it has decided to focus on iOS 9 instead. The iOS 9 will be released this fall, probably with the launch of a new iPhone model.

But when Apple releases the iOS 8.4.1, jailbreakers will not be able to update their devices to the latest OS anymore.
