iOS 9.0.2 update fixes lock screen issue with Siri

(Apple)iOS 9.0.2

With Apple quickly rolling out iOS 9.0.2 about a week after the arrival of iOS 9.0.1, a number of bugs that have been troubling users have been fixed. However, as with most software updates, users are still facing problems with some features of iOS 9.0, which was released on Sept. 16.

The bug fixes delivered by iOS 9.0.2 helped resolve some important issues that plagued users after they installed iOS 9.0. These include the fix of the flaw that allowed users to bypass the lock screen using Siri and access the contacts and photos on the device. After this particular bug was discovered by a user and exhibited it in a video on YouTube, it became apparent that people stealing iPhones would have an easy time accessing details if the user had only used a simple four-letter password.

Also among the bugs fixed is one that arose when users turned on or off the cellular data used by apps. This particular bug left users unable to change the data settings for their cellular service. Another issue that was resolved by iOS 9.0.2 is one that saw users unable to activate their iMessage accounts.

In the change log that was provided to users, Apple indicated that an issue pertaining to the iCloud Backup, which was often interrupted in the midst of a manual backup process, was also resolved in iOS 9.0. The log also pointed out that instances of the screen rotating when receiving notifications has been addressed and the stability of podcasts has been improved.

However, in its analysis of the performance of the iPhone 6s after iOS 9.0.2 was installed, GottabeMobile noted that the battery life on the device is rather short and is unable to last a whole day. On the other hand, there is no issue with the battery life on the iPhone 6 Plus which has a bigger battery.
