iOS 9.2 jailbreak rumors: 9.1 jailbreak now available; 9.2 and 9.2.1 vulnerabilities fixed on recent patch

Pangu, one of the famous team of hackers for the Apple's iOS operating system, has recently rolled out a new jailbroken version of the OS. But unfortunately, the build that the team had released was actually the previous version of iOS 9.1, according to iPhone Hacks.

As detailed on the report, the iOS 9.1 jailbreak will only run on 64-bit phones like the latest iPhone 6 and all of its variants, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad Mini from its second iteration to its fourth, and the iPad Pro. Sadly, older versions of these devices are not supported by the current build of the jailbreak, like the iPhone 5 and 5c, iPod Touch, iPad Mini, and iPad 2 to 4.

As for the recent iOS builds, Redmond Pie reported that the Cupertino-based manufacturer already released a patch for its iOS 9.2 and 9.2.1 operating systems, and its main purpose is to fix the vulnerabilities found in the OS, which will prevent it from being jailbroken.

However, one hacker by the name of Luca Todesco previously flaunted on his Twitter account — and admitted — that he had successfully cracked the iOS 9.2.1 and made a jailbreak version of it. Unfortunately, he later on said that he will not release this jailbreak to the public.

Unfortunately, there hasn't been any announcement yet coming from the two leading teams of hackers, Pangu and TaiG, when it comes to the iOS 9.2 or 9.2.1 jailbreak. With that in mind, it is ideal for fans to take everything with a pinch of salt. Needless to say, better consider this one as a mere rumor until proven otherwise.

Meanwhile, Apple has officially rolled out the iOS 9.3 build. However, WCCF Tech has advised fans to not upgrade their operating system and stay with the current 9.2.1 build for the time being, in case a new jailbreak gets released to the public.
