iPad Air 3 news: Rumors and speculations regarding device specs and release date

(Apple Website) The iPad Air 2 continues to rise in popularity, and its recent bargain sale price is viewed as an indicator that a new model will be released soon.

September is fast approaching, and Apple device watchers are getting more anxious and excited to find out about the new gadgets that will be released. One of the most anticipated devices is the iPad Air, 3 which is speculated to be lighter yet more functional than its predecessor.

Though Apple has yet to make an official announcement, the $100 discount offered on eBay for the iPad Air 2 has fuelled speculations about an upgrade even more. Like its predecessor, the iPad Air 3 is believed to have a 9.7-inch display screen with 2,048 x 1,536 pixels resolution. While the iPad Air 2 was built with the A8X processor, the newer iPad Air 3 will allegedly come with the A9X processor. However, there are also rumors saying that the newest model could come with the latest A10 chipset.

With the coming of iOS 10,  the rumor mill has speculated that the iPad Air 3 might come with the latest OS. Some rumors also suggest that the iPad Air 3 will feature the Smart Connector, which will enable the tablet to connect to devices such as the Apple Pencil and Keyboard. There are also rumors that the iPad Air 3 will feature the newest Apple Pencil stylus.

Since the current trend in devices is focused on making them as handy and light as possible, the tablet is believed to be made with the 7000 series aluminum chassis. The Force Touch feature could also be incorporated, which would mean that a fingerprint scanner will be included in the device.

The upgraded tablet is also believed to have a longer battery life with improved camera features. The iPad Air 3 is expected to be unveiled by September along with other rumored new devices, but as details haven't been confirmed yet, its release could also be delayed to March 2017.
