Apple did not refresh its iPad Air lineup last year, and ever since then, it has been a topic of intense speculation among fans and industry analysts. As the second half of this year has kicked off, this speculation has once again started to heat up as many are expecting Apple to bring out the iPad Air 3 this year.

The latest rumors about the iPad Air device have not been encouraging as very little information about it has been revealed in them. This has been taken by analysts as a clear indication that the tablet will not be arriving in September along with the iPhone 7 lineup. As a result of this, a website states that the unveiling of the iPad Air 3 could be pushed to the early part of next year.

However, there are some who expect the iPad Air 3 to skip the September event and instead be launched in a separate event in October. This is likely to happen if the company has enough devices to bring out in the October event, and to this extent, many analysts expect that the iPad Air 3 will arrive with the MacBook Pro 2016 models or possibly the MacBook Air models.

Since September of last year when the iPad Air 3 did not arrive, many were of the opinion that the lineup has been scrapped. Then earlier this year when a new iPad was being rumored, many expected it to be the iPad Air 3 but it turned out to be the iPad Pro 9.7, which as its name suggests has a 9.7-inch screen and is a smaller version of the 12.9-inch tablet. If the iPad Air 3 sticks to the release formula of the previous versions, it will arrive in October of this year. But as of now, with very little leaks about its features and hardware arriving, this is looking increasingly unlikely and its launch could be moved to March of next year.
