iPad Air 3 release date, details: Will Apple discontinue the line and focus on iPad Pro instead?

(Apple)Still no word on when the follow-up for the iPad Air 2(shown), the rumored iPad Air 3, may be released

Apple has already released the latest model of their iPhone series and maybe it is time for the technology giant to focus on their other gadgets. There is a possibility that the Cupertino-based company may already be working on their iPad Air 3 and its rumored specs will be better than its predecessor's.

Now, that the spotlight has turned away from the iPhone 7, some people from the technology community are wondering what Apple will release next.

It is speculated that maybe it is time for the iPad Air 3 to finally make its debut, but there are rumors saying that the company may not continue the iPad Air line anymore. The reason for this is because the company is prioritizing the release of the next iPad Pro instead. Moreover, there were no announcements regarding the iPad Air 3 during the past events of Apple since it showcased the company's other products such as the iPhone 7 and the next Apple Watch. However, these speculations might not be true since there are reports saying that it was seen in an e-mail from Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, that they will not discontinue the Air line.

As for the specs of the tablet, there are suggestions that the device may be equipped with an AMOLED screen with a 2048 x 1538 resolution display. It is also being anticipated that an A10 processor will be under its hood and its internal storage might reach up to 64GB. It will also have other features such as Bluetooth 4.2, lightning ports, and Touch ID.

The Apple Pencil may also be compatible for the device and the main camera of the tab will have 12 megapixels. It is also expected that it will have the iOS 10 operating system.

There is no definite release date yet for the iPad Air 3, but there are claims that it may be unveiled during the first quarter of 2017.
