Two years after the release of the iPad Air 2, it is now said that the current model for the iPad variant will be its last as it is possible that the Apple may have already canceled its plan of an iPad Air 3.

According to reports, it is possible that the Apple may have already abandoned its plan of releasing an iPad Air 3 as it will just concentrate on other iPad variants, including the iPad Pro. However, avid iPad Air fans still refuse to believe this allegation, reasoning that the silence of Apple on the iPad Air 3 must not be interpreted to its cancellation but only a delay.

There were earlier rumors claiming that the iPad Air 3 could be launched this coming October and will be dropped in the market by November. However, with the rumored release of the iPhone 7 and the spiraling down of the sales of tablets in general, tech and business pundits now believe that it is unlikely for Apple to launch the iPad Air 3 in October.

Nonetheless, in the event that Apple hasn't scrapped its plan for an iPad Air 3, it is now believed that it is likely to be unveiled in March 2017.

Even if Apple decides to unveil the iPad Air 3 in March next year, though, it is said that those who are excitedly awaiting for its arrival may be up to some disappointment as, allegedly, the device will practically have nothing new to offer as, according to Tab Times, it is possible for the rumored iPad Air 3 to pack specs similar to those the iPad Pro 9.7 carries, such as the A10 chipset and the True Tone display.

Rumor has it that the said upcoming Apple device will also carry the iPad Pro's stereo speakers, which will provide listening pleasure to its would-be owners.

It is also speculated that the iPad Air 3 will boast of aluminum chassis and will be sleeker as compared to the current iPad Air 2.

However, with no official announcement from Apple, everything said about the specs, features, and release date of the iPad Air 3 should be taken with a grain of salt at this point in time.
