After it was speculated that the iPad Mini 5 will be unveiled at Apple's event last October, the latest reports claim that the upcoming Apple device will be released in March next year and will carry a new name.

Although it was strongly speculated that Apple's Oct. 27 event would cast the spotlight on the latest MacBook, there were still some who believed that the iPad Mini 5 would share the center stage with it. However, skeptics on the release of the iPad Mini 5 were proven correct as the device was not even mentioned at the said Apple event. However, the latest rumors claim that it will just be a matter of months before the iPad Mini 5 will see its first daylight as, allegedly, the device is coming out in March next year, just three months away from now.

Rumors claiming that the upcoming iPad Mini 5 will be assigned a new name have remained persistent, though. Reportedly, when the iPad Mini 5 arrives in the market, it will be known as the iPad Pro Mini, and not iPad Mini 5. This, allegedly, is because Apple wants to push its iPad Pro line to greater heights in the coming years.

If the iPad Mini 5 is really to be rebranded as the iPad Pro Mini, it is said that it will be the third variant of the iPad Pro line in terms of screen size. Reportedly, apart from the 12.9 and 9.7-inch screen variants, a 7.9-inch variant — the iPad Mini Pro — will also be offered to the public.

Meanwhile, apart from possibly getting released in March next year and getting assigned a new name, rumors also claim that the upcoming mini tablet from Apple will boast of an A9 chipset and an M9 movement coprocessor.

It is also said to borrow some features from the iPhone, such as the 3D Touch and the aluminum chassis, which will not only make it more durable but look elegant, too.

While the rumors about the iPad Mini 5, or iPad Pro Mini, are nothing short of exciting to those who are awaiting the device, unfortunately, they are nothing but unconfirmed pieces of information at this point in time and can only be confirmed when the device, indeed, arrives three months from now.
