It was in September 2015 when Apple dropped the latest iPad Mini in the market, and, after almost a year and a half, the Cupertino-based company may introduce the latest version of the device, the iPad Mini 5, soon.

According to the latest reports, it is likely for Apple to release its iPad Mini 5 this March, and there is a possibility that it will, indeed, assume the iPad Pro Mini moniker. While Apple is known to make its devices slimmer than their respective previous versions, there is a possibility for the iPad Mini 5/iPad Pro to be thicker.

Allegedly, Apple is planning to make the iPad Pro 2 thicker so that it can embed the fingerprint scanner directly into the screen and ditch the home buttons. Because of this, some suspect that the same will be the case for the iPad Mini 5/iPad Pro Mini.

As far as its screen is concerned, there are also speculations on the iPad Mini 5/iPad Pro Mini maintaining the 7.9-inch screen size, still with the 1536 x 2048 resolution. However, as the iPad Pro 9.7 already comes with the True Tone feature, which automatically adjusts the color temperature of the screen based on the immediate source of light, it is suspected that the iPad Mini 5/iPad Pro Mini will adapt the said screen feature, too.

On the other hand, while there are reports saying that the iPad Mini 5/iPad Pro Mini being water and dust proof, just like the iPhone 7, Tech Radar opines that it is unlikely to be the case for the iPad Mini 5/iPad Pro Mini as such a feature is useless for a tablet.

Meanwhile, MacWorld reports that the latest iPads that are said to be released this March will come with the Apple Pencil 2. Hence, it is also possible for the iPad Mini 5/iPad Pro Mini to come with the said accessory, that is, if it really gets released along with the other iPads.

While the mentioned rumors on the iPad Mini 5/iPad Pro 2 are nothing short of exciting for those who have long anticipated the arrival of the device, they will remain as speculations until the iPad Mini 5/iPad Pro Mini is released, hopefully, this March, indeed.
