iPad Pro 2 release date update: production starts this September? Leaked photos reveal details

(Apple)Production of the new iPad Pro is said to begin in September this year.

The 12.9-inch iPad Pro from Apple got a refreshed version in March this year in the form of a 9.7-inch tablet. There are now speculations that the Cupertino-based company is cooking up another version of the tablet.

Photos of the tablet were reportedly leaked by a member of the staff of an Apple supply chain based in China, Apple Insider recently learned. Apple has yet to confirm the existence of the device, but if the photos prove to be real, it only confirms the rumors that an iPad Pro 2 is happening. The report also detailed that the next iPad Pro model is intended for business and professional use.

The device shown in the photo is assumed to be a prototype device considering that it only has 12 GB of storage capacity. Apple Insider notes that this storage size is only enough to accommodate an operating system to test out how well the device works. The photos also show a reveal number that coincides with the latest operating system from Apple, iOS 10 beta.

The source also added that the iPad Pro 2 production will start sometime in late September. Besides all these bits of information, not much else has been revealed.

Meanwhile, rumors about the specs continue to make rounds. It is said that the new generation of iPad Pro will have a 32 GB of RAM as its entry-level variant. This comes from the speculation that Apple might soon ditch the 16 GB of RAM variants. The stylus Apple Pencil is also expected to come with the device and it is likely to have significant improvements.

As for the design, the iPad Pro 2 won't look that much different than its predecessor. It is also said to use a USB-Type C connector instead of an audio jack. This rumor applies to all of Apple's future products.

It's still early to tell what iPad Pro 2 can bring to the table. Until Apple announces official details about the device, fans should take reports with a grain of salt.
