At Apple's Sept. 7 event, there was no announcement regarding the iPad line, including the highly anticipated iPad Pro 2. Rumor has it that it may be launched in the first quarter next year.

Gadget enthusiasts were looking forward to the announcement of the iPad Pro 2 at Apple's Sept. 7 event, but the tech giant only focused on the announcement of the iPhone 7 and Apple Watch 2. The company did not also drop any hints about the entire iPad line.

According to reports, the Cupertino-based company may launch the device later this year or in the first quarter of 2017, most likely in March.

As for its specs, the upcoming iPad Pro is rumored to be available in three different sizes — the 12.9-inch, 10.5-inch, and the 9.7-inch variant. Each size is equipped with different processing chips. The 12.9-inch and 10.-5-inch variants are reportedly going to be powered by the A10X processing chip. The midrange tablet, the 9.7-inch variant, will be getting the A9X chipset. Apparently, the different sizes of the tablet will target the business and educational sectors.

The first quarter of 2017 launching was also backed by a well-known tech analyst Ming Chi-Kuo. The analyst stated, "If the iPad comes in a larger size, such as a 10.5" model, we believe it will be helpful to bid for tenders within the commercial and education markets. As a result, we expect Apple to launch a 10.5" iPad Pro in 2017."

The upcoming iPad Pro 2 is also expected to sport features that Apple has introduced on the latest iPhone 7. So, it is possible that it will be thinner, lighter, water resistant, and will no longer support the standard 3.5-mm headphone jack. The new tablet may also step up its screen capabilities. There will be faster response for zooming, scrolling, and panning.

More details on the iPad Pro 2 may be announced soon.
