Fans have been expecting Apple to release a new iPad soon, but, until now, the tech giant has yet to make any sort of announcement alluding to the idea. However, rumor has it that a new iPad, the iPad Pro 2, will be releasing sometime in early 2017.

There were previous speculations that Apple would be unveiling the new iPad Pro 2 during their October event. But the occasion has come and gone, and fans are still left in the dark about the prospect of a new tablet.

While refreshes in Apple's lineups can typically be predicted due to historical data, the company's wide range of iPads and irregular release schedules make it nearly impossible to pinpoint an exact window. However, several reports are claiming that the iPad Pro 2 will arrive in stores by the first half of 2017.

As for its rumored specifications, there have been claims that the iPad Pro 2 will arrive in varying array of sizes and measurements, ranging from 7.9 inches to a much larger 12.9 inches. There is also talk of an OLED screen with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor and 3D Touch display making its way to the next-generation iPad Pro. Apart from that, it is believed that the tablet will not have a physical home button; instead, it could be incorporated directly into the screen, resulting in smaller or no bezels.

Under the hood, the tablet is expected to sport an A10X chip and may be running on Apple's latest operating system, iOS 10. It is also believed that it will have 4 GB of RAM. And much like Apple's latest smartphone, the iPhone 7, there have been reports that the iPad Pro 2 will not have the standard 3.5-mm headphone jack. As for the cameras, its main one is said to have 12 megapixels with True Tone flash, and its front-facing snapper is said to have 5 megapixels.

However, since these rumors and predictions have not been confirmed so far, readers are advised to take this news with a grain of salt.
