iPad Pro 2 rumors: Device to come in 10.5-inch variant; will arrive in March 2017

Although Apple has yet to make an official announcement, rumors claiming that the iPad Pro 2 will arrive early next year are becoming louder. In fact, according to the latest reports, apart from the 12.9-inch and 9.7-inch size variants, the iPad Pro 2 will be available in a 10.5-inch size, too, when it arrives before the first quarter of 2017 ends.

Prior to its event last Oct. 27, some people thought that Apple would be unveiling the iPad Pro 2, along with the latest line of its MacBook. However, at the end of the event, those skeptical about the reveal of the iPad Pro at the said event were proven correct as the iPad Pro 2 was a no-show.

However, just because the iPad Pro 2 was not unveiled at the Apple's event last October, it doesn't mean that it is not in Apple's pipeline. In fact, if the latest rumors are to be believed, the iPad Pro 2 will arrive early 2017, around March next year.

Apart from the rumors pointing to its early 2017 release, there are also numerous unconfirmed reports about what the iPad Pro 2 will offer in terms of size. According to MacWorld, the iPad Pro 2 may now come in three screen-size variants. Reportedly, apart from continuing the 9.7-inch version, which followed the original 12.9-inch variant, the iPad Pro 2 may also be available in a new size: the 10.5-inch screen variant.

In addition to the 10.5-inch screen variant, it is also said that it is likely for the iPad Pro line to come with an iPad Pro Mini. While MacWorld opines that there is a possibility for Apple to think that the iPhone 7 Plus can take care of the needs of those who don't want to have a bigger iPad Pro, the online publication cites securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's take on the possibility, which is affirmative.

It is also said that all the current iPads may eventually be labeled as "Pro" as a new line of iPads is launched next year. Hence, an iPad Pro Mini is not really a far cry at all.
