iPad Pro 2 specs rumors: Learn more about what the new tablet could feature

(Apple)The follow-up to the iPad Pro (shown), the rumored iPad Pro 2, is expected to arrive next year

In all likelihood, Apple's rumored iPad Pro 2 is not showing up for the remainder of this year, but 2017 will bring new gadgets and the updated tablet is expected to be one of them.

No exact release date is currently known for the new tablet, though rumors have settled on a possible release window for it.

According to a recent report from Mac Otakara, the new Apple tablets are expected to be shipped sometime during the spring. If that is the case, then the next-generation iPad Pro could make its debut in March.

Apple also launched the currently available 9.7-inch iPad Pro back in March of this year. If Apple decides to hold another March event for the launch of the iPad Pro 2, then that could mean that moving forward, people should expect upgraded iPad Pros to show up around that time in the years ahead.

That's about all that is currently known for now when it comes to the updated iPad Pro's release date, though there's more to learn about it when it comes to its possible specs and features.

Going back to that Mac Otakara report, it notes that three variants of the iPad Pro 2 are coming next year. The variants will feature 7.9, 10.1 and 12.9-inch displays.

All three models are also expected to retain their headphone jacks.

A recent report from Tech Times noted that the new tablets could also feature a dual-camera setup that is similar to what the iPhone 7 Plus has.

The body of the new iPad Pro may also change quite a bit, resulting in a thinner tablet that could be easier to handle.

The new tablet is also expected to feature processor and OS upgrades that should help improve its performance.

More news about the other upgrades coming to the iPad Pro 2 should be made available in the near future.
