Apple recently launched a refreshed version of the 12.9-inch iPad, but rumors are rife that the Cupertino-based tech giant will once again introduce another version from the Pro lineup.

The 12.9-inch tablet was released back in September 2015, and just this March, a refreshed version, one with a smaller screen size measuring at 9.7 inches, came out. Despite being barely six months old, a new iPad Pro is reportedly coming but there are different theories to its release date.

As reported in PC Advisor, Apple may launch an improved version of the original 12.9-inch iPad Pro at its September event. It is expected that the company will have a much larger tablet by then. At the same time, the 9.7-inch device may also be revamped and launched the same month next year - in that case, in March.

However, the publication speculated that Apple may skip giving an update about the Pro lineup at their September event and will possibly introduce two new iPad Pro models simultaneously in March.

Meanwhile, MacWorld speculates that Apple might just bring a minor update to the 12.9-inch variant so it will be at par with the 9.7-inch model, which also suggests that Apple will launch two new iPad Pros by 2017.

There are just a few possibilities when it comes to unveiling a new iPad Pro, but fans are less likely to get solid details about this lineup, even though the 2016 Worldwide Developers Conference is happening this month.

As for the specs and features, it is rumored that Apple will launch the revamped original iPad Pro with 256 GB of storage capacity.

Under the hood, it's likely that the 2016 iPad Pro will use or even top the specs of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. It is expected that the tablet will also have the capability to shoot 4K videos, run FaceTime HD camera with its 5-megapixel front camera and take impressive photos with a 12-megapixel iSight main camera.

Apple has yet to confirm if a new iPad Pro will be launched so rumors should be treated accordingly.
