Verizon is pumping up excitement among its wide customer base with trade-in offers and early upgrade to the newest models of iPhone, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

GigaOm reported, "The latest carrier deal comes from Verizon, which confirmed to Gigaom that all existing postpaid customers who would be eligible for an upgrade before November 15th can now take advantage of their upgrade starting today. That means that some customers will be able to purchase a $200 iPhone 6 with a two-year contract after 22 months, instead of the customary 24."

The promotion is not exclusive for iPhone 6, but also works for Android devices.

Verizon customers can also trade in their old smartphones and get as much as a $200 value gift card to purchase an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.

The wireless carrier offers iPhone 6 for $199 for a 2-year plan or $32.49 per month for Verizon EDGE plan holders, while no contract price starts at $649.99.

Meanwhile, iPhone 6 Plus will sell for $299 with a 2-year plan or $37.49 per month for Verizon EDGE plan holders.

Verizon "will deliver" the new iPhones later in October – Oct. 14 for iPhone 6 and Oct. 28 for iPhone 6 Plus.

Delays have been confirmed by Apple, Inc., following a record-breaking of 4 million first-day pre-orders logged after the company's Sept. 9 Cupertino media event.

The company promised that deliveries of pre-orders will begin on Sept. 19 until October.

The official count of units sold was just for the first day, and analysts see swelling of sales over the first weekend.

"Assuming preorders are similar to the 40 percent of first weekend sales for the iPhone 5, this would imply iPhone 6/6Plus first weekend sales could be around 10 million," Wells Fargo Securities analysts wrote in a note.

The iPhone 6 craze has officially begun.
